20 BOND STREET, SYDNEY

The glass lobby box starts at the building line on the George Street side of the building, 10m long and 7m high, with a sliding door entrance for disabled access and emergency egress. The sliding door is supported off a steel beam suspended between the two adjacent steel mullions with a linished stainless steel pelmet. Above the sliding door is a cantilevered glass awning, supported off custom made stainless steel arms fixed off the building’s structural columns.
On the Bond Street elevation, the glass box is 33m long and starts at 7m high, before finishing at Pitt Street 8m high.

Along this entrance is a manual pivot door for after hours access and a 3.6m diameter AGP Crystal Series automatic revolving door. Featuring a glass roof and steel portal frame, this revolving door is the perfect accompaniment to the glass box and provides the commercial lobby with an impressive main entrance.
All glass on the project was sourced locally from Viridian and was toughened laminated with a Sunergy high performance coating. The mullions were fabricated mild steel painted sections 300 x 120mm with linished stainless steel spider fittings.
All lifting was undertaken off mobile cranes with access via scissor lifts, due to the confined site conditions. The overall project was completed on time and to the great satisfaction of the builder.
